Description

GCYFY Air Blown Micro Cable is encapsulated in loose tube which is made of high modulus plastic and filled with tube filling compound. The tubes (and filler) are twisted around a non-metallic central strength member and wrapped with a dry, water-blocking material to form a cable core. A very thin polyethylene sheath is extruded over the core.

1. Core Structure:

  • Central Loose Tube:
    • The optical fibers are housed within a central loose tube.
    • The loose tube is typically filled with a water-blocking gel to protect the fibers from moisture and environmental stress.
  • Non-metallic Strength Member:
    • The cable has a central strength member made of non-metallic materials, usually fiberglass yarns or aramid fibers.
    • This design provides tensile strength without adding weight or attracting lightning.

2. Characteristics:

  • Non-metallic Design:
    • The GCYFY cable is entirely non-metallic, making it suitable for environments where metal components are not desired.
    • This design minimizes the risk of electrical interference and lightning attraction.
  • Lightweight and Flexible:
    • The cable is designed to be lightweight, making it easier to handle and install.
    • Its flexibility allows for easier routing in ducts and conduits.
  • Water Blocking:
    • The loose tube is filled with a thixotropic gel, and the cable may also have water-blocking tape or yarn to prevent moisture ingress.
  • UV and Weather Resistant:
    • The outer sheath is typically made of polyethylene (PE), providing protection against UV radiation and harsh weather conditions.

3. Applications:

  • Outdoor Installations:
    • Suitable for outdoor duct installations, where lightweight and flexible cables are needed.
  • Non-metallic Environments:
    • Ideal for areas where metal cables are not suitable, such as in the presence of electrical hazards or where lightning protection is needed.
  • Telecommunications:
    • Used in telecommunications networks for data transmission, especially where lightweight, non-metallic cables are preferred.
