Description

GYTA5333 Outdoor Optical Fiber Cable

The structure of the GYTA5333 cable is to insert single- or multi-mode fibers into a loose tube that is made of high modulus polyester material, filled with a water-resistant compound. A metal reinforced strength member is put in the center of the cable, for some fiber numbers of the cable, the metal reinforced strength member needs to be squeezed with a layer of polyethylene(PE) on the outside.

The loose tube (and the filling rope) is stranded around the central reinforced strength member to form a compact circular cable core, and the gaps in the cable core are filled with a water-blocking filler. Coated APL shall be longitudinally applied over the stranded core, then covered with a PE inner sheath. After that, two-side coated PSP needs to be longitudinally applied over the inner sheath, and shall then covered with another layer of PE sheath. Afterwards, the sheath is armored with a single layer of small round steel wires, then it shall be covered with a PE outer sheath.

Key Features and Construction of GYTA5333 Cable:
1.Structure:

Central Strength Member: Typically made of steel wire (sometimes FRP – Fiber Reinforced Plastic), located at the center to provide mechanical strength.
Loose Tube Design: The optical fibers are placed inside PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) loose tubes, which are filled with a water-resistant gel to protect the fibers from moisture and mechanical forces.
Filling Compound: The core is filled with a jelly-like compound that protects the fibers from water ingress and ensures long-term reliability.
Aluminum Polyethylene Laminate (APL): A water-blocking aluminum tape surrounds the cable core. Providing excellent moisture resistance and extra protection from environmental factors.
Steel Tape Armor : Features a layer of corrugated steel tape armor. Provides enhanced mechanical protection against impact, crushing, and rodents.
Outer Sheath: Jacketed with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or other rugged materials, offering UV resistance and durability in outdoor environments.

2.Fiber Type:

Single-Mode Fiber (SMF): Generally, GYTA5333 cables are equipped with single-mode fibers for long-distance, high-bandwidth applications. The fibers typically conform to ITU-T standards like G.652D or G.657 for improved performance and compatibility.
Fiber Count: often ranging from 2 to 144 fibers, depending on the deployment needs.

3.Water Blocking:

Designed with water-blocking jelly, which prevents water ingress and protects the fibers in wet or damp environments. The aluminum tape further enhances this by blocking moisture and ensuring the fibers are secure and dry.

4.Armoring:

The corrugated steel tape armor provides excellent mechanical protection. Making the GYTA5333 cable suitable for direct burial, preventing damage from external forces like digging, rodent bites, or heavy loads.
UV and Weather Resistance:

The outer HDPE sheath offers protection from ultraviolet (UV) rays, moisture, and temperature variations, ensuring long-term durability in outdoor installations.
