FTTX SFU Fiber Unit Airblown Fiber Optic Cable
FEATURES:
Unless otherwise specified in this specification, all requirements shall primarily conform to the following standard specifications.
Optical Fiber: ITU-T G.651, G.652, G.655, G.657 IEC 60793-2-10, IEC 60793-2-50
Optical cable: IEC 60794-1-2, IEC 60794-5
Note: It is recommended that the structure of 2 fiber units consists of 2 filler fibers, because this structure has better inflation performance and fiber separation than the structure without or only 1 filler fiber
Description
The Smooth Fibre Unit (SFU) consists of a bundle of low bend radius, No waterpeak G.657.A1 fibres, Encapsuled by a dry acrylate layer and protected by a smooth, slightly ribbed polyethylene outersheath, For application in the access network.
Installation: blowing into microductsof 3.5mm. or 5.0mm. (inside diameter) the fiber up to 12core.

1.Characteristics:
- Low-Friction Surface:
- The smooth outer sheath reduces friction, making the cable easy to pull or blow through ducts and conduits.
- Flexibility:
- The SFU is highly flexible, allowing it to be easily routed through tight spaces and around bends.
- Compact Size:
- Designed to be small in diameter, SFU cables maximize the use of space, ideal for densely packed environments.
- Durability:
- Despite its compact size, the SFU is durable and capable of withstanding typical environmental and mechanical stresses.
2. Applications:
- Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH):
- SFU cables are commonly used in FTTH applications where easy and quick installation is essential.
- Indoor Installations:
- Suitable for indoor cabling, especially in residential or office settings where space is limited.
- Duct and Conduit Installations:
- Ideal for use in ducts or conduits, particularly in situations where low friction is necessary to avoid cable damage during installation.
3. Advantages:
- Ease of Installation:
- The smooth, low-friction design allows for quick and easy installation, reducing labor costs and time.
- Space Efficiency:
- The compact size of SFU cables makes them ideal for use in crowded ducts or conduits.
- Flexibility:
- The cable’s flexibility allows it to be routed through tight spaces without kinking or damaging the fibers.
